Closed Captioning for Online Webinars & Meetings

IOA is dedicated to making meetings and content more accessible. All IOA Live Webinars will offer closed captioning. This service will also be available for IOA committee meetings upon request. IOA Online Learning & Virtual Event Policies

Webinar/Nuts & Bolts Cancellation Policy: 
I understand that notices of cancellation must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected]. Cancellations made five business days prior to the date of the live event will receive a refund of the purchased price of the individual webinar minus a $25.00 administrative fee. Cancellations made less than five business days prior to the course will not receive a refund.

Cancellation Policy: 
Notification of cancellation must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected]g. Cancellations received four or more weeks in advance of the course will be refunded, less a $75 USD cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than four weeks before the course. Substitutions can be made at any time up to four weeks before the course, as long as both attendees are of the same registration type. Nonpayment Policy:
Full payment of registration fees is required before the start of a course. If payment is not made prior to the start of the course, your registration may be canceled. The IOA office will contact registered individuals with a balance due before canceling their registration. Materials Acknowledgment:
The materials produced for IOA courses, shared during live instruction, and placed on the IOA Online Learning Center are provided for attendees only. By registering for any of our courses, attendees agree that they will not share the materials with others. 

Technical Failure Policy:
I understand that if there is a technical failure at the attendee's home or workplace that prevents access to the live webinar, the attendee will not be given a refund. It is the responsibility of the attendee to confirm system requirements and test their computers prior to the start of the webinar. If a technical failure is the fault of the service provider and the webinar is canceled, a full refund will be provided.

Recording Acknowledgement:
Each virtual session may be recorded, including chat transcripts. Video recorded during the event will be provided to all IOA members and may be used for promotional purposes, advertising, and other print and online materials at the sole discretion of IOA. You must consent to this if you plan to attend the live sessions. Recordings are not available for non-members.

Participant Agreement:
IOA events are community events intended for education, networking, and collaboration. We value the participation of everyone and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout all events hosted in the IOA space. To make clear what is expected, all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers, and volunteers at any virtual event are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. In registering for and/or participating in IOA education programs you consent to comply with this agreement, as well as the IOA Values and Norms and IOA Concern and Complaint Policy and Procedures.

We agree to use language and behaviors that contribute to a positive environment, including:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  • Focusing on what is best for everyone at the event
  • Showing empathy towards other participants

We agree to avoid the following:

  • Spam (verbally or in chats), including saying or reposting the same word/content repeatedly in order to disrupt the conversation
  • Harassment, bullying, and intimidation are defined as:
    • Negative comments about race/ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, physical appearance, citizenship, or other protected categories
    • Intimidation or threats, including sharing images or text especially to threaten
    • Unwelcome sexual attention, including sharing images or text especially to sexually harass
    • Threatening or other endangerment of minors
    • Any activity meant to convey or cultivate hostility
    • Ad hominem insults or other attacks
    • Encouraging the above behavior
