IOA and New Orleans: Rebirth, Rebuild, Respond!
Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2005, the same year that IOA was created. There is a parallel between these two events involving rebirth from a rich history, rebuilding a fresh landscape and responding to challenges. As New Orleans rebuilds, IOA and its members continue developing. As ombuds we are constantly striving to improve effectiveness by providing crucial conflict management services as we face unique opportunities in rapidly changing environments. For both New Orleans and IOA, addressing today's headwinds promotes a better tomorrow. Please join us in New Orleans to help mark IOA's fifth anniversary!
The annual conference is intended to help attendees increase awareness, knowledge and skills in order to become more effective catalysts for change within their organizations. We intend that keynote and plenary speakers, workshops, presentations, and panel discussions address the conference theme.

Please note that this year we will NOT be mailing out conference registration brochure so make sure that you download your brochure and abstracts from the website.
You can now follow us on Twitter! The best way to join in with Twitter is to create your own Twitter account at http://twitter.com/ and search for the "hashtag" (a Twitter search term that helps you find other Tweeters who are Tweeting about the same thing).
The hashtag for this year's conference is #IOA2010.
So, when you tweet about the conference this year, remember to put #IOA2010 at the beginning of your tweet so others can find the information. You can easily find other IOA members by searching for this hashtag. In keeping with the theme of the annual conference this year in New Orleans, Rebirth, Rebuild, Respond, IOA will be using several new technologies. One such technology is Twitter. The Conference Planning Committee has begun to use twitter to build excitement for the conference as well as provide members of our community with another way of connecting with other ombudsmen.
